Establish a public bank to act as increased competition to the Big 4 banks. The increased competition will provide fairer mortgage rates and better treatment for customers. If the Big 4 bank mistreat their customers, then the customers can choose to move their business to the pubic bank.

Hold Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to his previous support for the establishment of a public bank. In 2024, on the Neil Mitchell 3AW radio show, PM Albanese agreed that a public bank would “keep the private sector honest”. In 2026, the Labor government led by PM Albanese officially rejected the senate inquiry recommendation to establish a public bank.
